Calvados keur

chestnut - 1984 - 1.71m
The ‘keur’-awarded sire Calvados is bred from the very best French performance stock. His sire has been a trend-setting sire in France for many years. Uriel produced no less than 100 international show jumping horses. Gold Rose (Ibrahim) was the conformation champion of France. From 1972 to 1991 she was part of the French team and won the Paris and Madrid Grand Prix and was second in the Grand Prix’ of Lisbon, Barcelona and Hamburg. Gold Rose is also on record as dam of the licensed stallions Turban Rose and Hornet Rose as well as the international show jumping horse Keen Rose. Grandam Jolie Rosie Z (Hornet xx) in turn supplied no less than six offspring which are now performing in international show jumping: All Rose, Dall Rose, Gold Rose, Caline V, Irmino and Joly Jumper. Calvados himself has had a very successful career in international show jumping under Peter Geerink. That Calvados passes on his jumping genes to his products is confirmed by the high placings of his progeny. He sired, for instance, the reserve champion of the IAN trophy and several of his products scored well in EPTM- and IBOP-tests and foal auctions. Additionally he supplied several international show jumping horses of which Macanudo’s De Niro (Peter Wylde), Royal Future (Alison Firestone), Iwan (Mark Armstrong) and Hollywood (Marcel Rombouts) are the best examples.
Unfortunately we lost Calvados in 2006 but they are still available through frozen semen.
